TAYLOR:
Bessie May Taylor (nee Truran) passed away peacefully at the Elk Valley Hospital on October 19, 2010 at the age of 97 years. She was born in Calgary, Alberta on April 21, 1913 to parents Richard and Anne Truran.
Bessie was one of the first female graduates of the Natal/Michel High School. She grew up in Michel and lived there until she and Reg bought a home in Sparwood. A devoted wife and mother, Bessie loved being a homemaker, enjoying her family and her yard. She enjoyed many shopping trips to Kalispell, Calgary and Vancouver. Bessie will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.
Bessie is lovingly survived by her son Harold (Jean) Taylor and her daughter-in-law Mary Taylor, 6 grandchildren: Brad Taylor, Mark (Shelley) Taylor, Donna (Frank) Leskosek, David (Sheri) Taylor, Shelly (Terry) Hume, and Garry (Char) Taylor, and 10 great grandchildren: Chelsey Nieman-Taylor, Jordan Leskosek, Mike Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Jeremy Hume, Adam Taylor, Cailey Hume, Layne Leskosek, Cody Taylor, and Kyla Taylor. She was predeceased by parents, her husband Reg Taylor, her son Richard and her brother Howard Truran.
A Memorial Service was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Monday, October 25th with Major Joan Shayler of the Salvation Army officiating. Donations to the family are being put towards a Memorial Bench in Sparwood. Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services Ltd.
