Community raises $10,000 for house fire victims

A Jaffray family who lost their home in a house fire three weeks ago have received $10,000 from a dinner and silent auction on the weekend.

A Jaffray family who lost their home in a house fire three weeks ago have received $10,000 from a dinner and silent auction on the weekend.

Jen Kennedy, who organized the benefit, said 200 people attended.

“It went really well. It was a really good turn out,” said Kennedy.

The silent auction included items like cat ski tickets, accommodation at the Bull River Guest Ranch, $2,000 worth of jewellery from Jay’s Jewellers, and ski passes.
