The East Kootenay snowpack is at 81 per cent of normal, based on the latest data from the province.

Provincially, B.C. is at 66 per cent of normal as increased concerns over drought conditions remain heading into the spring runoff season.

The province uses a metric called the snow basin index to describe how much snow is present within a specific area relative to typical conditions.
