Fernie students speak out about pedestrian safety

Sophie-Morigeau students felt unsafe while crossing Mount Trinity Ave. on their school route

A group of students at École Sophie-Morigeau who are concerned about a lack of traffic signage on their daily school route, have taken action to help improve safety on city streets.

The Mount Ingram St. and Mount Klauer St. intersections along Mount Trinity Ave. in South Fernie currently don’t have any school zone or stop signs, or even a crosswalk, making it possible for traffic to pass through without yielding to pedestrians.
