January 5, 1941 - December 18, 2021
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Joy Ellen Quattrin. Joy passed away peacefully on December 18, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She will be greatly missed.
Joy was born in Fernie, B.C. on January 5, 1941 to Jim and Ellen Hallett. At the age of 15, Joy married the love of her life, Alfonso Quattrin (deceased 1995). Together they had four children, Tony (Perri), Angela (Norm Naccarato), Jay (Heather) and Allan (Kim) and six grandchildren.
Joy was an amazing cook and will be fondly remembered for having Sunday summer spaghetti dinners at Rosen Lake with her family and friends. Joy believed the more the merrier, a sentiment she carried over into her business while cooking wind up banquets for large groups.
Although Joy had many job titles in her 60 year career, she is most remembered for operating the bowling centres in Selkirk and Fernie. She enjoyed spending time with her many customers, whom she thought of as friends. Joy spoke fondly of how she was so warmly accepted into the Selkirk community when her and Alf moved here.
Among many things, Joy's passions included reading, golfing, cooking, travelling, hockey and of course her dogs.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Tudor House for the exceptional care provided to our mom and keeping her safe during these difficult times.
Cremation has taken place and a service will be held in the summer at Rosen Lake.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
Condolences may be left on her tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
