In loving memory ~

Margaret Elizabeth Savilow (nee Grocutt), passed on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at the age of 85 years in Calgary, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 28, 1938, in Michel, BC, to Edna and Stanley Grocutt. Margaret was a cherished member of a close-knit family including her siblings, Melvin, Stanley, and Doreen. Of them, only Melvin survives her.

Margaret was the beloved wife of the late William (Bill) Savilow, who predeceased her on January 10, 2022. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, survived by her devoted son, Garth Savilow, her daughter-in-law, Robby Walshe, and her adored grandchildren, Madison and Michael Savilow. She also leaves her goddaughter, Shannon (Joaquim) Mills, and her dear friends, Wray and Irene Mills.

A resident of Sparwood, BC, for over 50 years, Margaret considered this beautiful town her true home. Her commitment to her community shone brightly through her regular volunteer work at the Food Bank and The Heritage Society. Actively engaged in local life, Margaret was a familiar face at swimming classes, a regular at the library, and cherished conversations with her friends and neighbours who offered her support and companionship over the years. Among these cherished individuals were Lois Halko, Edie Holland, Carroll Walmsley, Maureen Fairburn, and many others who played a significant role in her life.

In her role as a Teacher's Aid which she held for many years, Margaret formed lasting connections with many students, with Satwinder Gill holding an especially dear place in her heart. Margaret's passion for helping others left an indelible mark on the community. She will be remembered not only for her kind heart and generous spirit but also for the strength of the relationships she nurtured throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

In her final days, Margaret resided at the Lilac Terrace Seniors Home, where she found great joy and comfort. Her family expresses immense gratitude to the staff and residents of Lilac Terrace who made her stay there a period of happiness and peace, enriching her last days with warmth and special memories.

As we bid farewell to Margaret, we are comforted by the joy and love she brought into our lives. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

As per Margaret's wishes a private service will be held. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Margaret's family at www.MHFH.com.
