On January 29, 2022 at age 84, Marjorie (Midge) passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family in Fernie, BC.
Midge was born on May 9, 1937 in Cape Breton, NS. In 1958 she married her husband, Austin Shea, who was a member of the Canadian Military. Austin's career gave the family the opportunity to live and travel across Canada. Midge and Austin had four children: three daughters and one son.
Midge truly lived life to the fullest and loved the simple pleasures: playing cards, walking in nature with her dog Penny, and camping with family. She had a spicy sense of humor and was a keen judge of character, she was hard working, a great cook, and fiercely independent. Midge was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren, and family.
Midge is survived by her daughter Jane (Al), son Danny (Anne), and her daughter Bonnie (Cliff). She is also survived by her sister Barb, her brother Donnie and several nieces and nephews.
Midge was predeceased by her husband Austin and daughter Norma, her parents Adeline and Leo O 'Handley, brothers Davey, Johnny, and Leo, and sisters Ruth, Betty, Shirley, and Kay.
Midge will be deeply missed by her children, ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, family, and friends.
Midge's family would like to thank Dr Soetaert and the care team for their support during this difficult time.
No service by request. A celebration of life for Midge's family will be held at a later date.

THE BROKEN CHAIN
We little knew that day that

LEGACY OF LOVE
A wife, a mother, a grannie too,

You taught us love and how to fight,

You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a mother, not just as a grandmother.
For all us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So, go in peace, you've earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we'll

If flowers grow in heaven,
Lord, then pick a bunch for us.
Then place them in our grannies' arms
And tell her they're from us.
Tell her that I love and miss her
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while.

We do it every day,
