A brand new fire engine will be coming to work in Fernie.
City Council approved a proposal from Fire Chief Shawn Ivany for a new 2012 Rosenbauer fire engine.
The fire department’s current fire engine, a 1990 HUB, is over its maximum service life of 20 years set by the Fire Underwriters Survey.
Chief Ivany said that a pump test was done on the current fire engine in June 2009.
