October 25, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Delemoie Joinson (nee Camleay) announce her passing on October 25, 2021 at the age of 80 years.
After a brief illness with cancer, Patricia passed away peacefully at home in Cranbrook BC.
Patricia was predeceased by Henry, her husband of 44 years, her infant daughter Mary Bernadette, son John, and her great granddaughter Ocean as well as sisters Evelyn and Shirley.
She is survived by her children, Henry Jr. Joinson, Margie (Bob) Macdonald, daughter-in-law Donna Joinson, Tom Joinson (Corinne), Patrick Joinson (Sheila), William Joinson, and Michael Joinson (Louise); fourteen grandchildren: Chris (Julia), Cameron (Tara), Matt (Tasha), James (Maria), Johnathan (Karley), Billy Ray (Kelsey), Ashley, Thomas (Kori), Jennifer (Ashton), Ken, Sue (Evan), Terry, Star (Michael), Sabrina; seventeen great-grandchildren: Aiden, Taylor, Peyton, Bella, Lucas, Ryland, Bradley, Brandon, Ethan, Aleana, Grayson, Bryson, Olivia, Kayden, Kassidy, Harper, and Jax, and her sister Yvonne and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom spent her younger years riding horses, picking mushrooms and huckleberries, hunting, fishing, and providing for her family on their farm in Morrissey. After moving into town (Fernie), she loved working in her garden which boasted huge sunflower plants and beautiful flower gardens. Mom loved to read and paint as well as write stories, some of which were featured in the Fernie Free Press. She enjoyed working at the sawmill in Elko and had some great stories to tell. Those who knew our mom knew she loved going for coffee and was not shy when it came to speaking her mind or voicing her opinions, often with some colourful grammar.
After moving to Cranbrook, Mom enjoyed her bus trips to the USA. She had fun visiting the casinos there as well as the one in Cranbrook. Mom loved spending her time outside in the yard with her little dog Cinnamon, watching and talking to the birds, bees, and deer that visited the yard. She was particularly fond of the crows as she helped raise one that fell out of the nest in the yard. Little Squawk would follow her around the yard, and she found much joy in him and his antics.
In recent years, Mom enjoyed staying in touch with family and friends she made from around the world on Facebook.
Rest in peace Mom. We love you.
