The Free Press staff

The CPKC Holiday Train rolled through the Elk Valley on December 12, stopping first in Sparwood, then Fernie.

Hundreds of people turned out to see the decorated train. 600 pounds of food was donated by those who attended. $8000 was donated by the CPKC Holiday Train for food banks in the valley.

At the Fernie stop, Knox United Church volunteers handed out over 400 cups of hot chocolate.
