St. Patrick’s Day, on March 17, is a religious and cultural holiday and a time to celebrate Ireland and Irish culture.

The day is in honour of the patron saint of Ireland and there are plenty of Irish-themed events and celebrations around the world on that day.

In Newfoundland and Labrador, the day is a holiday for provincial government employees.

If you are Irish, or if you wish you were Irish, this is a day to wear green and participate in the festivities.
