On June 21, a number of residents participated in the annual Fernie Raft Race.

Rafters met at Dogwood Park before being shuttled to the starting point at the end of Dicken Road.

After a short safety briefing, the race was on with about 25 rafts racing from the North Fernie Bridge to the South Fernie Bridge.

Rafters paid a $15 participation fee, which was donated the Elk River Alliance’s Elk Watershed Discovery Camp.
