1943-2021 ~ Mr. Raymond Johnson of Lethbridge (formerly of Sparwood), beloved husband of Sally Johnson, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the age of 78 years.
Ray was born in Red Deer on May 13, 1943 to Ensio and Sophie Johnson. Ray met the love of his life Sally and they were married April 6, 1967. Ray and Sally were blessed with three children; Ed (Lee-Ann) Johnson, Richard (Liliana) Johnson and Barb (Randy) Work. Ray had five grandchildren.
Ray enjoyed fishing, camping, crafts and fixing things. He spent 16 years as a volunteer firefighter in Sparwood and he also volunteered his time to many events there as well.
Besides his loving wife Sally, Ray is survived by his daughter Barb (Randy) Work of Lethbridge, AB; sons Ed (Lee-Ann) Johnson of Middleton, NS, Richard (Liliana) Johnson of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Don Richard of Morinville, Dylan Richard of Edmonton, Eric Johnson of Middleton, Taylor Miles of Kimberly, Jordan Johnson of Cranbrook and his sister Violet Cinnamon of Niagara Falls.
Ray was predeceased by his parents Ensio and Sophie as well as his sister Hazel.
A Celebration of Ray's Life will be held at a later date.
