RCMP update: petty vehicle theft warning

Elk Valley RCMP are currently dealing with a spike in petty thefts from unlocked vehicles in the community of Fernie. Police have responded to several complaints from residents over the past month who had their vehicles rummaged through overnight. Small items, identification, loose change and wallets have all been taken. Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles and park in well lit areas when possible.
