Saanich police look for stolen First Nations art, Inuit carvings worth $60K

The Saanich Police Department is investigating the theft of a collection of First Nations art valued at more than $60,000.

On April 2, the art, which includes several pieces by artist Calvin Mareberg and Inuit carvings estimated to be over 60 years old, was stolen from a residence in Gordon Head.

Among the art pieces include a large sun, a large moon, a wolf mask, a raven mask, a woman’s face and an Inuit carving of a woman’s head.
