Plans for a second ski resort in Fernie, with a $100 million gondola running from downtown to the summit of Fernie Ridge, have been unveiled in a City of Fernie meeting

The Fernie Ghostriders extended their winning streak to four on Friday evening, with a lopsided 6 – 1 win over the visiting Chase Heat. The strong start to October improves the Riders record to an impressive eight wins and one loss, in a month that has seen them outscore opposing teams 16 to 3.

Five Passtrak athletes ran their first race of the season in Lethbridge on September 24.

Under overcast skies and with the temperature hovering around ten degrees celsius, runners, organizers, walkers and spectators gathered at the Annex Park for the Fernie Half Marathon Race, Sunday.

After holding on for a win in Creston on Friday, the Fernie Ghostriders returned home and continued their strong play with a solid 60 minute effort on Saturday evening, soundly defeating the visiting Spokane Chiefs 3 – 1.

These Fernie skaters will be competing at either Sask Skate in Saskatoon, SK, October 7 to 9, 2011 and/or Autumn Leaves in Kamloops, BC, October 14 to 16, 2011.

We had 20 ladies for our last official Tuesday Ladies Day.

Starting the season with four consecutive road games, the Ghostriders returned to the friendly confines of Fernie Memorial Arena on Saturday evening to host the Kimberley Dynamiters in the second of back to back games.

Runners are gearing up for the Fernie Half Marathon this weekend.

The Ghostriders won 3-2 in Kimberley on Friday night.
