Temperatures could reach 38 degrees by Saturday

Infants and elderly are warned to take caution in times of high heat

On July 5 at 11:05 a.m., a special weather statement was released by the Government of Canada stating that weather could reach a stifling 38 degrees celsius in the Elk Valley by Saturday, July 8.

A ridge of high pressure will strengthen over B.C. through Sunday, leading to several days of above seasonal temperatures, read the report.

Temperatures during the daytime on Thursday and Friday are predicted to reach the mid to upper 30’s, and overnight temperatures are predicted to remain high as well.
