Unprovoked assault puts young man in hospital

A late-night unprovoked assault has left 19-year-old Cameron Currie in the hospital with potentially long-term injuries.

An RCMP report says Currie made the call after the attack, which happened around 2:30 a.m., Sunday, July 16, outside of The Royal Hotel & Bar in Fernie.

Currie says that he was attacked from behind by a group of five men and one woman, while chatting to a friend outside the entrance.
