Wildfire discovered northeast of Golden

The fire is suspected to be human-caused

A wildfire was reported on Saturday northeast of Golden near Yoho National Park.

The BC Wildfire Service map says the fire is located at Wildcat Creek and is estimated to be roughly eight hectares. The Southeast Fire Centre dispatched personnel to combat the blaze.

The fire is believed to be caused by human activity, but a full investigation into the cause won’t occur until the fire is extinguished.
