Wildfire grown to 30 hectares in size, 24km northwest of Fernie

To date this year, there have been 18 fires in the Southeast Fire District

A wildfire that started Sunday afternoon in the Bull River area, approximately 24 kilometres northwest of Fernie, has grown to 30 hectares in size. The fire is being fueled by dry, fallen timber.

Currently on-site is one unit crew, with three pieces of heavy equipment, working to establish a guard around the perimiter of the site.

To date in the Southeast Fire Centre, there have been 18 fires, burning a total of 38 hectares.
