From Galloway Lands to Max Turyk. At least things aren’t boring for the new city council.

In case you missed it, the city has unveiled plans to sell the 8.5-acre Max Turyk Community Centre to École Sophie-Morigeau for $3.4 million. The city would retain 1.5 acres of the property for future affordable housing and/or childcare opportunities.

Full disclosure: I’m the vice-president of Pickleball Fernie which is directly impacted by the sale as the club’s outdoor courts are located on the property.
